Ho'oponopono!


Ho'o pono pono!

Do we all suffer from the addiction of engagement? In todays world of electronics, how could we not be?  Social media today is the forefront of all our activities that we participate in.  Why do we have this need to connect with one another?  What's going on inside of us that we need to be aware of?

Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, former psychologist at Hawaii State Hospital had the task of rehabilitating mental patients in his ward. Where other doctors failed in restoring mental health, he succeeded.  He had a different method of therapy.  His area of expertise was the art of "Ho'oponopono.  This art is about the cleansing process.

He states that we are all individuated aspects of Source. We are perfect and our original state of being is--purity of Love!  However, it is claimed that we are operating from the eleven million bits of information stored in our consciousness called "Data".  We think as though we have free will but do we really.  What we do have is "Choice".  

It is suggested that we all have shared memories with one another.  So this social engagement is a tool for us to see our connections. We can now understand that there is a reason for our interactions.  We may not understand the reasons but we could entertain that thought. We are a reflection of each other.  We could continue to allow stored data to operate from our memories that is driving us unconsciously or we can begin the healing process by extending ourselves through love and forgiveness. 

The cleansing process of Ho'oponopono states simply:

"I'm sorry"
"Please forgive me"
"Thank you"
"I love you"

It's about taking 100% responsibility for self.  In changing ourselves, we allow others to find their own way.  Peace begins with me.  Shakespeare said it beautifully, "To be or not to be"! We can learn to erase the data of imperfection. We can learn to fall in love with ourselves and to help others do the same. We all have our own rhythm and we all matter. We are an exact copy of source, which is God, which is Love.  Isn't it time to make it happen?

Fragrance of Loving! I sometimes get a swift smell of the fragrance of loving .  My heart opens wide and there is not a thing in sight that I'm not in love with.  These moments are however:  very fleeting!  It comes and goes and some moments are so intense that all I see is my own volatile state. Today is a day of beauty!  I feel and taste the sweet scent of life.  I wish that this day, this moment, this second could last forever.  I wonder why this feeling is so intense at times and lesser at other times.  I noticed that when I try to recapture these moments on my own accord, I feel uneasy and unnatural. Balance!

Balance I have a mentor that has taught me a valuable lesson.  She was having brain surgery and the scheduled operation was a month away.  Can you imagine that!  There was a lot of undue stress in that waiting period. She decided that she had nothing to lose and everything to gain if she would start having a relationship with God.  She didn't know where to begin because her life was focused on a successful career and God wasn't included.  So she simply PRAYED!   She reached out into nothingness and decided to have faith that God heard her. She decided there was a reason she was having this experience. The foundation of her life was shaken to the core. It was time to slow down and prioritize her life because there may not be more time for her.  She wanted to start Anew. Dreams!

Dreams! I wake up each morning and decide how to start my day.  Is there an appointment that I need to keep? Is it bookkeeping time?  Does the yard need tending? What will be on the menu for the day?  I'm sure my day planner is no different that any other person starting their day. However, I wonder how many of us dare to DREAM?   How many of us speculate on living a different life, as a different person, in  another place doing what you love?  Dreaming is the start of that evolution! It's not to say that your life isn't perfect the way it is.....it's about experiences.  What would life be without our daily experiences?  A friendly "hello" to a passerby, eye contact, opening the door for anyone, complimenting one another, finding the good in all that you witness and feeling alive!
